This policy explains what information RoofingSwap ("we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. RoofingSwap operates a marketplace that connects homeowners who request roofing help with licensed roofing contractors.

Information we collect

• Homeowners who request an estimate: name, phone, email, property address, and details about the roofing job.
• Roofers who sign up: name, company, email, phone, service area, and billing details (payment cards are handled by Stripe — we never store full card numbers).
• Automatically: IP address, device/browser information, pages viewed, and similar usage data collected through cookies and analytics tools.

How we use it

• To match homeowner requests with roofers whose service area covers the job.
• To operate accounts, process payments, and send transactional messages (receipts, lead alerts, account notices).
• To improve and secure the service, and to comply with legal obligations.

How leads are shared

When a roofer purchases a lead, the homeowner's contact details (name, phone, email, address) are disclosed to that one roofer so they can provide an estimate. Each lead is sold to a single roofer. By submitting a request, homeowners consent to this disclosure.

Service providers

We share limited data with vendors who help us run the service: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Twilio (SMS alerts), Microsoft Clarity (analytics & session insights), and Google Maps (address lookup). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Cookies & tracking

We use two categories of cookies:

• Essential cookies — required for the site to work (sign-in sessions, security, your cookie choice). These are always on.
• Analytics cookies — Microsoft Clarity, which records anonymized usage and heatmaps so we can improve the site. These load only after you accept on the cookie banner.

Roofers may opt in to SMS lead alerts. Message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help.

• Depending on your state (e.g. California), opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and exercise other privacy rights.

Data retention & security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and we use reasonable safeguards to protect it. No method of transmission is 100% secure.

Children

RoofingSwap is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
